Duties
- Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Support the application of paints, stains, primers, and coatings using brushes, rollers, paint sprayers (including airless spray equipment), and conventional spraying techniques
- Handle hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, brushes, rollers, and power tools safely and efficiently
- Set up ladders and scaffolding securely for access to high or hard-to-reach areas while adhering to ladder safety regulations
- Prepare construction painting surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching holes or cracks, and applying primer or base coats as directed
Qualifications
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
- Understanding of construction site safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to safety protocols
- Basic math skills for measurements and mixing paints or coatings accurately
- Prior experience with carpentry, plastering, caulking, trim carpentry or masonry is beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong work ethic with reliable attendance
