POSITION: Social Worker III- Adult Protective Services
MINIMUM HIRING SALARY: $59,946.00 Grade: 70
General Definition of Work:
This position involves case-management with a concentration in Adult Protective Services investigation/evaluation and Guardianship for Adults. Other duties include Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) for Adults, Adult Care Home/Nursing Home Placement and Representative Payee. This position involves many programs requiring a wide range of knowledge and the ability to organize and structure a variety of tasks. Duties will include assessment, case management, case planning, goal setting, arranging and monitoring a battery of services. Court involvement is required on occasion for Adult Protective Services and Guardianship. This position involves communication with the public to include law enforcement and medical/mental health professionals. Some intake duties as well as after-hours on call rotation are required._ This position may be considered for hybrid teleworking after the completion of the probationary period and as determined by the department’s manager._
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems. Considerable knowledge of a wide range of medical and/or behavioral problems. Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques, governmental and private organizations, and resources in the community, laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program. General knowledge of the methods and principles of casework. In certain settings, considerable knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and their treatment as it relates to decisions regarding interventions. Skill in establishing rapport with a client. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of case load and their families, as well as civic, legal, medical, social, and religious organizations. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.
Education and Experience: MSW from an accredited school of social work; BSW from an accredited school of social work and 1 yr. directly related experience; 4 yr degree in a human services field from an accredited college/university and 2 yrs. directly related experience; 4 yr degree from an accredited college/university and 3 yrs. directly related experience; Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited college/university in a human services field and 2 yrs. directly related experience.
