What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician I position at Lee County Government?
We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working with equipment, and being part of a crew that makes a real difference every day.
- Mow grass along roads and sidewalks.
- Use a ride-on mower to cut and trim grass.
- Edge sidewalks and curbs.
- Drive a pickup truck and pull a small trailer.
- Load and unload mowing equipment safely.
- Check equipment each day to make sure it works correctly.
- Report any broken or unsafe equipment.
- Keep tools, trucks, and work areas clean.
- Work safely near cars, people, and sidewalks.
- Help remove debris and clean right-of-way areas.
- Help other crews when needed.
- Work during storms or emergencies when required.
- Do other tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- One (1) year of landscaping, groundskeeping, or related experience
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions
- Ability to drive a pickup truck and pull a small trailer safely
- Ability to use a ride-on mower and other yard tools
- Experience using commercial landscaping tools, such as ride-on mowers and trailers
- Previous right-of-way experience
