Skilled Laborer - Performs any combination of the following duties on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision. Maintains personal tools. Works with the foreman, carpenters and pile drivers on the project site(s). Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line. Installs and removes form panels. Places and finishes concrete. Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks up under forms. Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel. Mixes concrete and apply caulking compounds. Performs variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, and cutting and attaching insulating material. May perform incidental work items included within other crafts. May be designated according to duties performed. May perform other related duties.

Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and 25-50 pounds of force frequently and 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to lift, carry, push and pull in standing, walking, sitting positions.

Experienced Carpenter - Constructs built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms for molding concrete structures, scaffolds, false-work and chutes for placing concrete, according to sketches, blueprints or oral instruction at the elevations required. Carpenters are required to examine plans and specifications to determine dimensions of the structure. Supplies own tools. Measures material using square, measuring tape, and ruler, and marks cutting lines using pencil and scriber. Carpenter saws material(s) to the desired sizes, using handsaw or power saw, and nails material together.

Erects built-in place forms or assembles and installs prefabricated forms on construction site according to blueprint specifications, using hand tools, plumb rule, bob and level. Insert spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions. Anchors and braces forms to fixed objects, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, cables, planks, and timbers. Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. Builds false work to temporarily strengthen, protect, or support structure undergoing construction. Erects chutes for pouring concrete. May perform other related duties.

Agility, coordination and alertness are necessary for work because it is in vicinity of heavy equipment and traffic. Ability to follow instructions and adjust to a flexible work schedule as required. Carpenters and skilled laborers wear PPE as required to complete the task safely.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
