Senior Data Analytics & Financial Reporting Analyst (Contract)

Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $50-$60 per hour
Duration: Contract through year-end
Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid
Local Orange County candidates only
Our client is seeking a Senior Data Analytics & Financial Reporting Analyst to join their Finance team on a contract basis through year-end. This position is ideal for a finance professional with a strong data analytics foundation, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to transform large data sets into meaningful financial insights and executive-ready reporting.
The ideal candidate combines analytical strength with exceptional attention to detail and can produce polished deliverables for senior leadership with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and distribute recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports.
Analyze large data sets and develop actionable insights to support business decisions.
Perform budget-to-actual and forecast variance analyses, identifying key drivers and trends.
Create, enhance, and maintain reporting tools, templates, and financial models.
Support annual planning and forecasting activities through data extraction, consolidation, and reporting.
Develop executive-level presentations and reporting packages for leadership meetings.
Partner with Finance team members to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity.
Assist with reporting and planning activities utilizing financial systems and data platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
4 years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, business analytics, or corporate finance.
Strong financial acumen with knowledge of data analytics, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Advanced Excel skills, including:

Pivot Tables
Power Query
Complex formulas and nested functions
Financial modeling
Large data set analysis


Ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

NetSuite
PowerPoint
Financial reporting and dashboard development

Ideal Candidate

Produces accurate, polished work with exceptional attention to detail.
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Experienced preparing executive-ready reports and presentations.
Able to quickly ramp up and contribute immediately.
