Full Charge Bookkeeper



Role Overview

The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the complete accounting cycle for the organization, with a strong focus on construction industry operations. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication skills and hands-on experience in construction accounting systems. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational support across projects.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounting functions with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Mandatory experience in the construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of Sage/Timberline accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting project managers and operational teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities



Accounting Operations

  • Manage all core accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting using Sage/Timberline.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely processing of all financial transactions.

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Oversee monthly close activities, including posting month-end entries.
  • Prepare and ensure accurate financial statements and supporting schedules.

Project & Operational Support

  • Provide accounting and financial support to project managers and operations staff.
  • Respond to financial inquiries and resolve accounting-related issues to meet business needs.

Compliance & Construction Accounting

  • Manage licensing and insurance compliance requirements.
  • Process releases of liens, Notices to Owner (NTO), and AIA billings.
  • Maintain compliance with construction-specific accounting and regulatory requirements.

Reconciliations & Payroll

  • Perform job cost reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and job costing.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Clear and professional communication across departments.
