A growing construction company in the Howard County, MD area seeks a qualified Staff AccountantKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including accruals, adjustments, and report preparation.Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and internal analyses.Maintain and update general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP standards.Review invoices, expenses, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.Assist with audits by preparing schedules, pulling documentation, and responding to auditor requests.Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, or opportunities for process improvement.Maintain organized and accurate financial files, reports, and documentation.Collaborate with finance and operations teams to resolve accounting issues.Support implementation and optimization of accounting software or workflow tools.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.Strong understanding of GAAP principles.Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v‑lookup, formulas).Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
