Billing Specialist

Position OverviewLedgent Finance & Accounting is currently seeking a dedicated Billing Specialist for an onsite position in Maryland. This role is essential in managing various accounting and administrative functions, specifically focusing on accounts receivable, accounts payable, certified payroll compliance reporting, and maintaining both paper and electronic filing systems. The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting job cost accounting to ensure accurate tracking of materials, labor, subcontractor invoices, and cost codes/cost classes.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently and accurately.Manage certified payroll reporting and compliance, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and job cost documentation.Organize filing systems, both electronic and paper, to ensure easy access and retrieval of information.Assist with Certificates of Insurance (COIs), W-9s, data entry, phone calls, and general administrative tasks.Support job cost accounting using a structured numbering and cost code system.Collaborate across functions and assist with various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.Participate in cross-training for various administrative responsibilities to enhance team flexibility.RequirementsExperience with job cost accounting is preferred.Knowledge of Foundation Software is ideal; experience with Sage or QuickBooks is also acceptable.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.Ability to multitask and support a small, fast-paced office environment.No formal education requirement, though relevant experience is highly valued.Work HoursMonday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with some flexibility.BenefitsHealth and dental insurance.Paid Time Off (PTO).A positive and supportive company culture.Additional DetailsThe Billing Specialist will report to the Controller and will be part of a small, collaborative office environment. A background check is required for this permanent position, which offers compensation ranging from $25 to $27 per hour.
