Overview:
What: The Summer Success Program offers an opportunity for Title I eligible students in Orleans Parish to enhance their math and reading skills. You will be given lesson plan examples, resources, and curriculum to plan lessons for your group based on their needs.
Compensation: $30 hourly
Grades: incoming 1-7 math, reading and STEM, 3-7 students per group

Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging math, reading, and STEM lessons for grades K-7
- Assess students’ progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate with parents regarding students’ progress and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Take daily student attendance.
- Active Teacher Certification preferred, not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (or related field) preferred
- Prior teaching experience in grades 1-7 reading and math.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to create engaging and differentiated lessons.
Additional Details:
- Must be comfortable and confident teaching grades K-2 math and reading.
- Must be comfortable and confident teaching grades 3-7 math and reading.
- Training will be held prior to the start of the program to review expectations, curriculum, and lesson planning.
- BrainQuest Curriculum will be provided but you will be responsible for daily lesson planning
- Provide own laptop for documentation purposes
- Required completion of Archdiocese Virtus Training
