Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant you will play a vital role in supporting the finance team in various accounting functions. Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
- Assist in the day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Portfolio Company Accounting:
- Support the accounting processes for portfolio companies, including financial statement analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with finance teams at portfolio companies to gather relevant financial data.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial models and forecasts.
Audit Support:
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
- Provide documentation and explanations for audit inquiries.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and industry best practices.
Cash Management:
- Assist in the management of cash transactions, including reconciliations and forecasting.
- Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimal financial performance.
Reporting:
- Generate and distribute regular financial reports to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of investor reports.
Ad Hoc Projects:
- Contribute to special projects as assigned by the finance leadership team.
- Provide support for process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
