Responsibilities

• Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using manual cleaning techniques or dishwashing machines
• Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet sanitation standards and prevent cross-contamination
• Assist with food preparation by organizing clean utensils and ingredients as needed for kitchen staff
• Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers and other cleaning tools, adhering to health and safety standards
• Handle heavy lifting of large pots, trays, and bulk supplies with proper manual handling techniques
• Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area by regularly sanitizing surfaces, floors, and storage spaces

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
• Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment are advantageous
• Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards and adhering to health regulations
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting busy kitchen operations
• Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not mandatory
