What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Global Supply Chain position at Lean Six Search | Supply Chain Recruitment?
Head of Global Procurement & Supply Chain
Location: Miami, Florida
Structure: Initially remote with significant global travel. Relocation expected.
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
The Role
This is not a maintenance job.
This is a build.
Our client is a private equity–backed, global business operating across the U.S., EMEA, and APAC with a strong manufacturing footprint and a clear ambition to scale. They don’t need someone to manage procurement and supply chain. They need someone to rebuild it, modernize it, and weaponize it. You will walk into a platform with real complexity, real spend, real inefficiencies, and real opportunity. And you’ll have the mandate to fix it.
Why This Role Matters
You will own the global engine that drives cost, service, and resilience.
You will define how this company buys.
How it plans. How it delivers.
And more importantly, you will build the team and infrastructure to make it world-class.
This is a role for someone who has built before, not just inherited.
What You’ll Do
Build a Global Procurement Powerhouse
- Own and transform ~$500M in global spend across Direct, Indirect, and Operations
- Architect and scale a best-in-class procurement function from the ground up
- Lead strategic sourcing across critical raw materials and global manufacturing partners
- Drive meaningful cost savings without compromising quality or continuity
- Implement and elevate P2P systems, governance, and data visibility
- Build and mentor regional teams that can operate with autonomy and accountability
Own the Global Supply Chain & Planning Agenda
- Design and implement a true global S&OP function that actually works
- Drive improvements in forecast accuracy, inventory strategy, and service levels
- Optimize the global manufacturing network across utilization, throughput, and efficiency
- Build planning capabilities at the plant level that move beyond firefighting to foresight
- Introduce structure, discipline, and visibility into a system that needs it
Build the Team, Not Just the Function
- Hire, shape, and develop a global team across regions
- Create leaders beneath you who can run their piece of the business
- Instill a culture of ownership, speed, and accountability
- Turn procurement and supply chain into a competitive advantage, not a cost center
What You Bring
- You’ve built global procurement and supply chain organizations, not just managed them
- You’ve operated across multiple regions and understand the realities on the ground
- You know how to negotiate at a high level and deliver real, measurable savings
- You can move between strategy and execution without getting stuck in either
- You build teams that perform, not teams that wait for direction
Bonus Points If You’ve…
- Implemented digital procurement or supply chain tools that actually drove impact
- Built dashboards, scorecards, and analytics that leaders use, not ignore
- Taken a fragmented global operation and turned it into something cohesive
How Success is Measured
- Real cost savings and cost avoidance
- Improved business continuity and reduced risk
- Increased spend under management and contract
- Better on-time delivery performance
- Lower inventory and improved working capital
- Stronger forecast accuracy
- Higher asset utilization across the network
The Opportunity
This is a rare mandate.
You’re not stepping into a polished machine.
You’re stepping into something with edges, gaps, and opportunity.
And you’ll have the backing, visibility, and autonomy to turn it into something exceptional.
If you’ve ever wanted to build a global function your way, this is it.
