Accounts Payable Auditor

Lead Staffing is seeking a meticulous Accounts Payable Auditor to join our client's team. This role is vital for maintaining the financial integrity of a large-scale property management portfolio, requiring an expert touch in auditing, price verification, and vendor relations.
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to audit payables and verify that prices are accurate and accounts are paid in a timely manner. This role involves handling highly sensitive financial information and business plans, requiring absolute confidentiality and discretion regarding trade secrets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Audit Operations: Responsible for the timely audit of checks, invoices, and purchase orders for various properties.
- Construction Oversight: Conduct specialized audits of construction purchase orders, contracts, and change orders for active projects.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve vendor problems when pricing discrepancies are identified and escalate other issues to the AP Manager.
- Financial Reporting: Audit utility worksheets and petty cash requests to ensure total accuracy across all payment types.
- Compliance & Reporting: Provide a monthly report of findings to management and assist with the training of other Accounts Payable personnel.
- Communication: Handle all telephone and email correspondence promptly and courteously while providing excellent customer service to all personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: 1 year or more of accounts payable or related work experience/training is required.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Professionalism: Must be an energetic, ethical, and results-driven professional capable of excelling in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage conflict calmly and remain organized under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Physical: Regularly required to sit and operate standard office equipment; must be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
PRE-SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
- Reliability: Must be consistently on time and willing to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the business.
- Travel: Ability to travel as needed within the Southern California Region.
