LTS ENGLISH TEACHER

The Le Roy Central School District is seeking a long-term substitute secondary English teacher (Grades 7-12) for an appointment beginning in September 2026 and going through mid-October 2026. This position will be for 10th grade English. We are seeking an individual to join our top-notch English department that is highlighted by our strong annual Regents and AP results. The department also boasts many high-level learning opportunities through AP Language and College Composition.

The Jr./Sr. High School has 550 students in grades 7-12, 70 staff members, and has a proud tradition of academic excellence and maintains high behavioral standards. We have a very diverse and vast course catalog that allows our students to challenge themselves and expand their horizons. We look forward to hiring an individual that will have a positive impact on our school community.

The Ideal Candidate will:

• Minimally have NYS 7-12 ELA Certification
• Prepare and teach 10th grade English in accordance with NYS curriculum and standards
• Prepare and instruct literacy rich English courses
• Prepare and instruct academic support for English students
• Stay current in research-based instructional practices and pedagogy, NYS standards, assessment, curriculum, and Response to Intervention practices
• Maintain and enhance collaboration with team members and department members
• Utilize technology to maximize instruction and learning
• Promote social emotional learning and restorative practices
