Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. Working closely with the Controllers, this role processes accounts payable and receivable, performs account reconciliations, assists with month-end and year-end closing activities, and ensures the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively with the finance, operations, and sales teams in a fast-paced scaffolding rental and sales environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Process accounts payable, including invoice verification, coding, and payment preparation.
- Process accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, payment applications, collections support, and account reconciliations.
- Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Support payroll processing by preparing and verifying payroll-related information.
- Maintain fixed asset and equipment records as required.
- Track rental revenue, sales transactions, and related customer accounts.
- Assist with inventory and cost tracking for scaffolding sales and rental equipment.
- Prepare reports for the Controllers, including aging reports, cash flow summaries, and financial analyses.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable tax regulations.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation.
- Collaborate with operations, sales, and project teams to resolve billing and accounting issues.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Experience in construction, equipment rental, or industrial services is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
