Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio company is actively recruiting for a temporary Immigration Paralegal for an onsite position with one of our prestigious law firm clients in McLean, VA.
These are temporary position and need someone with 2-5 years of U.S. business immigration experience (H-1B and L-1 petitions).

Duration: 3 months, potentially longer
Hours: TBD, full-time
Position Summary
As an Immigration Paralegal, you will work closely with immigration attorneys to support individuals and organizations navigating the U.S. immigration system. This role involves preparing and filing immigration petitions, managing case documentation, communicating with clients, and helping ensure cases move forward efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Business immigration (work sponsorship, employment-based petitions)
- H-1B, Blanket L-1A/L-1B, I-140, TN, PERM and related supporting documents
- Preparing and filing immigration petitions and applications under attorney supervision
- Collecting, organizing, and reviewing client documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Managing case files (digital and physical) and maintaining up-to-date records
- Drafting and assembling filings for matters
- Coordinating case deadlines and ensuring timely submission of materials
- Reviewing invoices and assisting with administrative and clerical tasks as needed
- Conducting initial client intake interviews to understand needs and summarize case information for attorney review
- Explaining next steps, timelines, and document requirements clearly and patiently
- Providing updates to clients on progress and helping set expectations
- Translating communications between the attorney and client when required (language skills are a significant advantage)
- Interviewing prospective clients and recording case information
- Requesting, gathering, and organizing supporting documents
- Translating and explaining attorney requests and process requirements to clients
- Researching asylum/refugee requirements and country-specific filing needs
- Preparing, assembling, and filing applications and petitions
- Maintaining organized client files and ensuring data integrity across systems
Qualifications
- Paralegal degree (2-year or 4-year) or a paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge (or demonstrated ability to learn quickly) of immigration forms and filing processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases in different stages with attention to deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and clerical case management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Bilingual (Spanish strongly preferred; other languages a plus)
- Familiarity with immigration case management platforms such as:
- LawLogix and/or INSZoom
- Experience with research and document translation
- Prior experience supporting filings for visas, asylum, deportation/removal, and naturalization matters
- Case management and clerical excellence
- Detailed knowledge of immigration forms and filing processes
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
- Strong client service mindset and professionalism
- Comfort with complex, time-intensive processes and frequent client updates
- Technical proficiency and ability to work within case management systems
