I'm currently partnered with an early-stage AI company that's developing computer vision technology used to automate quality inspection across manufacturing environments. They're looking to add a Hardware Engineer to help design and deploy industrial vision systems for customers across a variety of manufacturing applications.
This is a highly hands-on role focused on selecting, configuring, and validating the hardware that powers AI-driven inspection systems. You'll work closely with software, deployment, and customer teams to build reliable vision solutions for real-world production environments.
What You'll Do Day to Day:
• Design hardware solutions for industrial machine vision applications
• Select and validate cameras, optics, lighting, GPUs, edge computing hardware, and networking equipment
• Evaluate manufacturing environments including lighting conditions, line speeds, mounting constraints, and system layout
• Support hardware integration, testing, commissioning, and customer deployments
• Create hardware documentation including wiring diagrams, configuration guides, and deployment documentation
What You'll Need To Succeed:
• Must have experience supporting industrial machine vision, optics, cameras and hardware integration projects.
• Experience deploying camera-based inspection or vision systems within manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with hardware configurations including industrial cameras, lenses, lighting systems, compute hardware (NVIDIA GPUs, edge computing hardware)
• Comfortable working directly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams
Nice to Have:
• Experience with defect detection or AI vision inspection systems
• Exposure to PLCs, industrial automation, or industrial networking
Why This Role:
• Join a rapidly growing AI startup building real-world manufacturing technology
• Work on cutting-edge computer vision deployments across multiple industries
• High-impact role with significant ownership over hardware architecture and customer deployments
