Transitional Living Program (TLP) Site Coordinator ? Young Adult

Lawrence Hall
Chicago, IL Full Time
POSTED ON 4/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/13/2026
About Lawrence Hall

Lawrence Hall is a Chicago-based nonprofit social services agency that provides therapeutic, wellness, and skill development services to youth, families, and neighborhoods affected by lasting trauma. We foster healing and growth through empowerment, respect, safety, and teamwork.

Our Transitional and Independent Living Program (TIL) empowers young adults ages 18 to 21 to successfully transition into adulthood by providing essential life skills that support independent living. In Transitional Living, youth live in shared residences and learn budgeting, employment, career planning, and apartment upkeep. In Independent Living, youth manage their own housing, utilities, and continue skill-building toward full independence.

About The Role

Lawrence Hall is seeking a Site Coordinator to lead operations across large, multi-unit residential buildings in our Transitional Living Program.

This is a meaningful, on-the-ground leadership role that goes beyond program oversight. You will guide and support staff as they navigate the emotional demands of residential work, respond to crises as part of a 24/7 on-call rotation, and maintain structure in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment - all while supporting youth through complex life transitions.

The work is challenging, but it's also deeply rewarding. If you are energized by mission-driven work, enjoy problem-solving in dynamic environments, and are ready to lead with both compassion and consistency, you will thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of a multi-unit transitional living site, ensuring safety, structure, and compliance with DCFS standards and program policies.
  • Manage scheduling, documentation, reporting, and site logistics.

Staff Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and support staff, including crisis response and performance feedback.

Youth Support & Skill Development

  • Help youth build independent living skills (budgeting, employment readiness, education, household management) and confidence as they transition into adulthood.
  • Coordinate recreational, educational, and life-skills programming.

Crisis Response & Safety

  • Apply trauma-informed and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) practices.
  • Support staff during behavioral crises and participate in 24/7 on-call coverage.

Community Collaboration

  • Build relationships with landlords, employers, and community partners to support youth housing and employment stability.

Who we're looking for

Required

  • At least 25 years of age
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of experience in residential, transitional, or youth service programs.
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License, personal vehicle or access to vehicle, and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen; no history of child abuse or neglect.

Preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with adolescents ages 17-21.
  • Experience supervising staff in residential or social service environments

Additional Information

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule that requires 24/7 on-call responsibility. Work is primarily on-site in a residential setting, with occasional travel between multiple sites. Physical requirements include ability to use stairs to move between floors, transport youth in an agency vehicle, and support youth in a variety of settings.
