Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal - part-time - to join our dynamic legal team on a part-time basis. Duties
- Assist attorney with case preparation, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and discovery materials specific to personal injury law
- Conduct thorough legal research using AI, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case strategies
- Manage case files using document management systems such as Needles ensuring all records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather relevant information for ongoing cases
- Obtain, review, organize and analyze medical records, accident reports, and other pertinent documentation related to personal injury claims
- Prepare summaries of case facts, timelines, medical treatment and legal issues for attorney review
- Coordinate with insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties involved in personal injury claims
- Proofread and edit correspondence and legal documents for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with procedural law standards
- Maintain organized calendars for court deadlines, appointments, and follow-up actions
- Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and general clerical tasks to ensure efficient office operations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law and litigation procedures, and case management practices
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as AI, Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Experience with document review, legal drafting, proofreading, transcription, and contract preparation
- Familiarity with case management software including Needles
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Effective interviewing skills to gather detailed client and witness information
- Knowledge of procedural law requirements for personal injury cases
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong written communication skills for drafting reports and correspondence
- Familiarity with legal administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management systems
- Exceptional phone etiquette combined with professional interpersonal skills
