Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Of Counsel – Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned attorney to provide expert legal counsel, manage complex personal injury cases, and contribute to the firm’s success through strategic litigation and client advocacy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in personal injury law, along with extensive experience in legal research, case management, and courtroom procedures. Duties
- Provide expert legal counsel on personal injury cases, including trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and litigation strategies
- Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury claims from inception through resolution, ensuring timely progression and client communication
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and stay current on relevant statutes and case law
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity
- Prepare clients for court depositions, hearings, and trials by developing comprehensive case strategies
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trial advocacy and procedural law applications
- Collaborate with experts across various legal disciplines such as estate planning, environmental law, employment law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, and more to ensure comprehensive case handling
- Engage in negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes for clients while maintaining high standards of legal advocacy
- Maintain meticulous case management records using legal case management systems to track progress and deadlines
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of personal injury law combined with general & commercial litigation expertise
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful settlements
- Proficiency in legal research tools including LexisNexis and Westlaw for statutory and case law analysis
- Excellent legal writing skills for drafting motions, pleadings, contracts, and reports
- Skilled in trial preparation including evidence gathering, deposition strategy, and courtroom presentation
- Familiarity with procedural law requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Effective client communication skills to explain complex legal issues clearly and empathetically
- Experience with legal motion preparation and courtroom advocacy in personal injury cases
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of employment law case experience is a plus but not required
