Position Overview
:A highly regarded litigation firm is seeking Litigation Associates to join its growing team in. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, exceptional legal writing abilities, and experience handling appellate matters, dispositive motions, and complex legal issues before state and federal courts
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft appellate briefs, petitions, motions, and other appellate filings for state and federal court
- Conduct extensive legal research and develop persuasive legal argument
- Analyze trial court records and identify appealable issue
- Assist with appellate strategy and case assessment
- Prepare oral argument outlines and support attorneys appearing before appellate court
- Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive motions and post-trial motion
Qualifications Required:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active admission and good standing with the New York State Bar
- 2 years of litigation experience, including significant exposure to appellate practice
- Demonstrated experience drafting appellate briefs and complex legal memoranda
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $140k-$190k. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
