Litigation Attorney
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
We’re seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join a well-established law firm in Des Moines, Iowa. This opportunity offers an initial 6-month onsite work arrangement, followed by a transition to hybrid work, providing the chance to handle a diverse range of legal matters, manage complex disputes, and develop effective litigation strategies while collaborating with an experienced legal team.
Role Expectations:
- Handle a broad range of litigation matters, including commercial litigation, business disputes, civil litigation, banking litigation, creditor rights, employment, healthcare, intellectual property, municipal, real estate, and trust and estate litigation
- Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
- Develop litigation strategies, assess legal risks, and advise clients on case developments and potential outcomes
- Represent clients in court proceedings and collaborate with colleagues, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Iowa Bar admission (required)
- 7 years of litigation experience
- Strong background in litigation and experience in one or more of the relevant practice areas
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, case management, and advocacy skills
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual base salary for this position is between $150,000–$200,000. Factors that may affect pay within this range include skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
