What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trademark Specialist position at Law Firm?
International law firm seeks an experienced Trademark Specialist to join their team. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and autonomy. Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and file trademark applications;
2. Review and Manage client trademark dockets;
3. Prepare and record documents affecting the chain of title for U.S. and International trademarks;
4. Responsible for various aspects of the trademark process, including application, prosecution, maintenance, Trademark and Trial Appeal Board proceedings and related docketing;
5. Coordinate and oversee U.S. and foreign trademark filings;
6. Perform various tasks including copyright registrations, searches and communication with the Copyright office;
7. Communicate with attorneys, clients and foreign agents regarding pending trademark applications and registered trademarks;
8. Prepare Office Action responses and related correspondence;
9. Review and maintain renewal and maintenance dockets for clients.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate are highly recommended;
2. At least 3 years of on-the-job experience is required;
3. Experience using the USPTO website database;
4. Proficient with MS Office;
5. Excellent writing/written communication skills;
6. Possess knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training or its equivalent;
7. Possess the ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when evaluating legal matters;
8. Possess the ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors;
9. Possess interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow the instruction effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact;
10. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain while organizing and maintaining multiple cases;
