Summary

We are seeking an Irrigation Technician to join our team at Lauritzen Gardens. This role is vital in maintaining the health and beauty of our gardens through effective irrigation practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission by ensuring that our plants receive the necessary water while promoting sustainable gardening practices.

Responsibilities

• Repair and upkeep of irrigation systems and water features throughout the garden.
• Operate various power equipment such as golf carts, mowers, blowers, trimmers, and such.
• Snow and ice removal during the season including the use of snowblowers and other snow removal equipment.
• Assist in fence repair and other equipment maintenance.
• Ability to keep records using a standard computer with spreadsheets and documents.
• Coordinate with horticulture team to operate irrigation controller efficiently.
• Coordinate with other departments to keep the garden areas clean and safe.
• Assures safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal.
• Maintains a satisfactory working relationship with managers, co-workers, and others.
• Maintains a positive, helpful and solution orientated demeanor when requesting to or servicing members and visitors.
• Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing, etc.

Requirements

• Regular attendance will be required.
• Must have proven excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills in dealing with the public.
• Ability to maintain stability under pressure and able to deal well with stressful situations.
• Ability to be flexible and willing to modify plans, when necessary, throughout the day.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
• Must be committed to working safely at all times.
• Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds safely.

Education & Experience

• 3 or more years of irrigation systems maintenance experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED or combination of education and equivalent experience (required).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Possess a current pesticide applicator’s license or obtain one within 12 months from start date of employment.
• Excellent communication skills.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
