Summary
As a Greeter at Lauritzen Gardens, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, welcoming them with warmth and enthusiasm. This role is essential in creating a positive visitor experience while promoting our mission of education and inspiration in the realm of botanical gardens.
The availability for this position is weekends plus some weekdays with select nights on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday at 15-29 hours per week. Most evening shifts will end by 8:30 PM at the latest.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors warmly upon arrival and provide them with essential information about the gardens.
- Assist guests with inquiries regarding exhibits, events, and services available at Lauritzen Gardens.
- Monitor and manage guests in the children's play garden.
- Promote memberships and special events to enhance visitor engagement.
- Maintain a clean and organized greeting area to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist guests to utilize the kiosk system to process admissions accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless visitor experience.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills with an ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience in customer service or retail environments is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a wider range of visitors.
- Enthusiasm for horticulture or botanical education is highly valued.
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time in an indoor and outdoor setting.
- Ability to use electronic devices/technical components.
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
