Job Summary

The Security/Custodial/Events Setup position is a hands-on, fast-paced role that plays a key part in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment while supporting successful events and rentals. This position requires flexibility and strong situational awareness.

The schedule for this position is Friday through Monday. Hours are typically flexible from 1:30 PM-9:30 PM or 2:30 PM-11:00 PM. It would be 5:30 PM-2:00 AM for events.

In addition to event support and security responsibilities, custodial duties are a significant and ongoing component of this role, whether events are scheduled or not. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking in a dynamic public setting.

Primary Job Duties

• Work collaboratively with the Security/Event Manager and Facilities Director to support daily operations.
• Assist with the setup and teardown of events, programs, and facility rentals.
• Support the coordination and on-site execution of events and rentals.
• Perform routine custodial duties and complete assigned work orders.
• Accurately document daily custodial and security rounds.
• Provide building and parking lot security, including monitoring events and conducting routine patrols.
• Respond to security incidents or breaches and promptly report and document unusual activity or safety hazards.
• Assist with parking traffic control during events and peak visitor periods.
• Lock and unlock buildings and doors before, during, and after operational hours.
• Escort staff as needed and provide transportation support in various situations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate organizational vehicles required.
• Previous experience in security, facilities, custodial services, event support, or related field preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based one event schedules.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures and document activities accurately.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with staff, volunteers, vendors, and visitors.
• Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional in emergency or high-pressure situations.
• Basic computer skills and completing documentation and work orders.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety, security, and custodial protocols.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including during events and security rounds.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as part of event setup, teardown, and custodial duties.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Visual and auditory ability to observe surroundings, monitor activity, and respond to safety concerns.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for emergency response situations.
