Job Summary
We are seeking motivated and dedicated Kitchen Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and support the overall operation of our kitchen. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills and gain experience in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred, but we welcome candidates eager to learn and grow within the industry. We are a Mission that serves those staying at the Mission, as well as the public. It is important to have the desire and personality skills to work with those who come into our ministry. We are looking for a candidate who has a heart for the people we serve. The hours working will include early afternoon hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking various dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, including washing dishes, utensils, and cookware
- Support food presentation and ensure quality control during food preparation
- Assist with food safety procedures, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and excellent customer service
Skills
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hotel kitchens is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and serve customers
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with banquet service, cooking, or hospitality roles is a plus
- Good physical stamina for standing long periods and lifting supplies or equipment as needed
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles within the kitchen environment
Pay: From $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
