Schedule: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
Location: Hybrid (Monday and Friday remote) - commutable to Downers Grove, IL, for qualified candidates
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Strategy & Oversight
Pay: The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $140,000. This position is also eligible for a year-end company bonus based on company goals. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
Benefits: In addition to pay, a competitive benefits package is also provided, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k); and company bonus eligibility.

Basic Requirements For The Director Of Compliance And Sustainability
- 8 years of experience in compliance and/or sustainability roles, including at least 5 years in leadership positions
- Experience administering a global compliance program at a multinational company
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulations relevant to industrial manufacturing, parts distribution, or repair services
- Experience supporting international trade compliance, including export classification reviews and customs classification (HTS and Schedule B)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Project management experience with a track record of successful program implementation
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, business administration, engineering, or related field
- Outstanding professional references
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Licensed customs broker or background supporting operational aspects of international trade compliance
- Professional certifications in compliance management or sustainability (e.g., CCEP, CIPP, PMP, CSR-P, LEED AP)
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, distribution, or repair services industries
- General working knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
- Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, CDP)
- Background in circular economy principles and practices

- Monitor evolving regulations affecting industrial manufacturing and distribution operations
- Design, develop, and maintain global policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards
- Conduct risk assessments and oversee monitoring and auditing initiatives
- Support investigations into compliance-related incidents and prepare reports for senior leadership
- Promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the organization
- Support and execute corporate sustainability strategy, including measurable goals and KPIs
- Lead environmental initiatives focused on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint management
- Support circular economy initiatives, including repair, refurbishment, and responsible end-of-life management
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to implement sustainable procurement practices
- Support sustainability data collection and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to leverage sustainability as a competitive advantage
- Support administration of a global compliance and sustainability council
- Partner with executive leadership to integrate compliance and sustainability into business strategy
- Collaborate with HR and business leaders to develop and deliver compliance and sustainability training
