Latitude is seeking a Commercial Contracts Attorney to support a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This attorney will manage a steady volume of commercial agreements, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, and must be comfortable operating with minimal supervision.
This role is well-suited for a lawyer who thrives in a nonprofit environment and can independently handle commercial contracting work without extensive training or oversight.
This is a full-time engagement role for approximately three months, with the potential for extension based on business
needs.
Key Requirements
Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $120,000 to $160,000 or more when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

Key Requirements
- Review, draft, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including vendor, services, and research-related contracts, supporting day-to-day operations across multiple teams
- Advise internal stakeholders on risk allocation, compliance, and procurement-related considerations in a nonprofit setting
- Ensure agreements align with applicable state and local procurement laws and organizational policies
- Identify and mitigate legal, operational, and compliance risks in contracting processes
- Manage contract revisions, redlines, and direct negotiations with vendors and third parties
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance that balances risk with organizational goals
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, procurement, and program teams to support efficient contract execution
- Help streamline contracting processes and improve templates, playbooks, and internal workflows as needed
- Licensed attorney in good standing in the State of Oregon
- 3 years of experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Experience supporting nonprofit organizations or working within regulated or procurement-driven environments is a plus
- Strong ability to work independently and manage a steady volume of agreements with minimal oversight
- Comfortable advising business stakeholders and communicating legal concepts in a clear, practical manner
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience handling vendor negotiations and balancing legal risk with business objectives
