Project Billing Accountant

Compensation: $30-$35 per hour, depending on experience and contract terms

Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week

LaSalle Network is hiring a Project Billing Accountant for a consulting firm based in downtown Chicago. This hybrid, contract role (with strong potential) is designed for accounting professionals who bring precision, urgency and confidence to project-based billing. This team is moving quickly and needs someone who can step in and contribute immediately.

Important: A bachelor’s degree in accounting is absolutely required for this role. Candidates without a completed accounting degree will not be considered. Please do not apply if this requirement is not met.

What’s the job?

• Manage end-to-end project billing for consulting engagements
• Prepare, review and issue accurate client invoices
• Track billable hours, expenses and project budgets
• Partner with project managers to ensure billing aligns with contract terms
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and client questions
• Maintain organized billing schedules and supporting documentation
• Support month-end close and project-related reporting
  
  

What’s needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required, non-negotiable)
• Prior experience as a Project Billing Accountant or similar role
• Consulting or professional services billing experience
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with detailed financial data
• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
• Ability to work hybrid, onsite two days per week in downtown Chicago
• Availability to start ASAP
