What You'll Do
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Analyze, audit, reconcile, and resolve payroll processing issues to ensure smooth payroll operations.
- Calculate employee wages, tax withholdings, garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
- Perform gross-to-net payroll calculations and assist with payroll check distribution and direct deposit processing.
- Process off-cycle payrolls for bonuses, stock payments, and other special payroll events.
- Generate, review, and analyze payroll reports using ADP reporting tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions related to pay, deductions, leave accruals, and benefits.
- Partner with the Senior Payroll Manager to maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Monitor payroll compliance by researching changes in payroll laws and regulations and assisting with implementation as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting, and system efficiencies.
- Maintain confidentiality while supporting payroll audits and special projects.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of full-cycle payroll experience.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and payroll compliance.
- Experience with ADP Enterprise Payroll, ADP Reporting, and/or UKG Payroll.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, wage calculations, and payroll best practices.
- CPP certification or other payroll certification preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage confidential information and meet critical payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
