What’s the job?
- Lead the HR function during a period of organizational transition
- Oversee payroll operations using Wurk, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage complex employee relations matters across retail, cultivation and corporate teams
- Support and mentor a lean HR team, including HR Generalists and payroll support
- Partner with the CEO and CFO on urgent HR priorities
- Ensure multi-state compliance, with a focus on Illinois and Maryland
- Bring structure, calm and leadership to a fast-moving environment
- Proven experience as a Director of Human Resources or senior HR leader
- Strong background in payroll oversight and employee relations
- Experience supporting hourly, high-volume employee populations
- Multi-state and multi-location HR experience
- Ability to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up
- Background in regulated, retail, manufacturing or similar environments preferred
- Cannabis industry experience a plus, not required
- $70–$80/hour contract-to-hire opportunity
