We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for commercial and industrial building projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in building electrical systems and collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings
- Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and equipment sizing
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and applicable standards
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other project stakeholders
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction
- Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase support as needed
- Support permitting and inspection processes
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience in building electrical design (commercial and/or industrial)
- Strong working knowledge of NEC and building electrical codes
- Experience with power distribution, lighting systems, and life safety systems
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
- Experience working in an A/E or consulting engineering environment
- Familiarity with energy-efficient design, sustainability standards, or commissioning
- Experience with healthcare, higher education, industrial, or mission-critical facilities
