Litigation Defense Attorney

We are looking for an experienced Complex Litigation Associate/Counsel who can immediately step into meaningful work. Ideal candidates will bring background in general liability, personal injury, transportation matters, and/or catastrophic injury defense. This role provides hands-on litigation experience, direct exposure to national clients, and the opportunity to manage substantive responsibilities early on.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload independently from initial investigation through resolution
• Collaborate closely with partners and team members in a supportive environment
• Handle all phases of litigation, including trial preparation, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
• Deliver strategic case assessments and timely updates to clients
• Engage directly with clients as a trusted advisor throughout the lifecycle of each matter

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active admission to the NY or NJ Bar
• 4 years of defense litigation experience (Personal Injury, General Liability, Catastrophic Injury, Transportation, Negligence)
• Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to foster client relationships and manage complex cases with confidence
• Proven adaptability within fast-paced, team-driven environments
• Familiarity with legal project management is a plus
