About the Company
A Fortune 500 financial services institution is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its growing legal team. This attorney will support a broad range of corporate and regulatory matters and partner with business stakeholders across the organization. This is a strong opportunity for a junior attorney seeking exposure to a wide variety of in-house legal work within a large, sophisticated enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with review, drafting, and negotiation of insurance-related agreements and policy documents.
- Support intellectual property matters, including trademark maintenance, licensing, and coordination with external IP counsel.
- Advise on data privacy and information security considerations, including compliance with relevant federal and state laws.
- Provide legal guidance on a wide range of general corporate matters, including governance, commercial contracts, regulatory inquiries, marketing/advertising review, and operational initiatives.
- Conduct legal research and assist with the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including compliance, product, operations, procurement, and risk-to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Manage outside counsel as needed.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, either at a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracting, and issue-spotting across multiple legal disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Practical, business-minded approach to legal issues.
