Assistant General Counsel

A publicly traded FinTech company headquartered in Atlanta, GA is seeking a skilled and driven legal professional with 5-10 years of experience to join its legal team as Assistant General Counsel. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact legal work across consumer financial products, banking regulations, corporate transactions, and compliance matters. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in consumer lending, excels in cross-functional collaboration, and demonstrates a proactive, business-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stay informed about banking regulations, laws, and industry standards
• Draft and review related legal agreements on existing and new financial products
• Advise internal stakeholders on relevant legal matters relating to the company's financial products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, technology, marketing) to support the launch of new financial products
• Collaborate with outside counsel on litigation matters when necessary
• Work with a team of attorneys
• Conduct due diligence on potential M&A activity

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
• 5-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Deep understanding of banking regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
