An established global industrial organization is seeking a Legal Counsel to support a growing commercial business across North and South America. This position will partner closely with commercial, operations, logistics, and finance teams to provide practical legal guidance on strategic business initiatives and day-to-day commercial matters.
- Advise business stakeholders on a broad range of commercial and operational legal issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate customer, supplier, transportation, storage, and other commercial agreements.
- Support commercial transactions and business expansion initiatives across domestic and international markets.
- Provide guidance on trade, regulatory, compliance, and risk management matters.
- Assist with dispute resolution and claims management involving commercial relationships.
- Develop practical legal solutions that balance business objectives with risk considerations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic projects.
- Manage external counsel and contribute to legal process improvements and governance initiatives.
- J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5 years of legal experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Experience supporting sales, procurement, supply chain, logistics, transportation, or commercial operations.
- Background advising businesses in mining, industrial, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or related sectors is preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong business judgment, relationship-building skills, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Salary : $170,000 - $215,000
