Job Summary – Field Technician & Logistical Support (DC OCTO, Washington DC)
- Install, upgrade, and maintain telecommunications equipment and cabling at various facilities
- Perform basic troubleshooting for network, phone, and wireless systems
- Manage logistics, including inventory, scheduling, and material coordination
- Support multiple teams, including data center, fiber, voice, and field operations
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and blueprints
- Use and update cloud storage systems (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive) and ticketing systems
- Work with spreadsheets for data entry and analysis
- Use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc.); experience with multimeters, cable testers, and related tools is a plus
- Provide strong communication and customer service to internal teams and clients
- Physically able to lift up to 125 lbs, climb ladders, and be on feet for most of the shift
- Possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites as needed
- Entry-level; requires at least 2 years of trade service experience (electrical, mechanical, alarm, handyman, or telecom)
- Willingness to learn networking basics and pursue relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, BICSI)
- High School Diploma or GED required
