Working Schedule:	Part-Time, As-Needed summer/fall position Variable work hours based on department needs; a weekly schedule will be determined in order to complete the clean-up, design, installation, and troubleshooting of the electrical apprenticeship lab and equipment. Schedules may vary with hours increasing during peak periods up to 40 hours per week, up to 1039 hours in a 12 month period.

Required QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:	Two years of post-secondary education or training with coursework in the area of assignment OR Journeyman License in the following classifications (general journeyman electrician, manufacturing plant electrician, or limited maintenance electrician)
Required Experience:	Two (2) years of experience in the electrical trade.

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education	Associate's Degree within the Construction Industry. Licensed Journeyman.
Preferred Experience	Demonstrable, real-world experience in electrical theory, national electrical code, motors and motor controls, and programmable logic controllers. Construction or industrial foreman/supervision in an industrial setting. Supervising Electrician experience. Teaching or construction/industrial-related experience in addition to experience in the electrical trade. Experience with apprenticeship training programs and standards.

Position Purpose:	This position will function as the Lab Coordinator for the Electrical Apprenticeship Lab, responsible for organizing the layout, setting up and installing equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and designing a realistic lab environment that supports student learning and success.
Essential Functions:	Essential Functions Coordinate and implement the set up and design of the electrical apprenticeship lab and equipment to provide a safe and up-to-date learning environment. Obtain, prepare and maintain materials, equipment, and supplies for student labs and classes and keep the lab clean and organized. Trains students in equipment use and proper procedures. Provides assistance with assignments and supervises lab students. Works closely with faculty and the apprenticeship committee (JATC) to determine program needs. Shows enthusiasm for the electrical trade. Work safely and within guidelines established by OSHA, the college, and the division. Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students. Other duties as assigned. Supervision Statement:	Reports to and works under the general supervision of the Division Dean. Work is performed independently using specialized experience and training. Work is reviewed for the quality of assistance provided.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:	The working conditions are in an electrical shop setting with multiple hazards such as machinery, tools, ladders, trip hazards, etc. Lift and transport up to fifty (50) lbs; use a computer for one (1) or more hours per day; Ability to work on a concrete floor for five (5) or more hours/day. Stand for long periods. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repeat the same movements. Bend or twist their body. Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects. Work Safely.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:	Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to student learning; establish and maintain effective working relations with faculty, students, and staff. Communicate effectively. Demonstrate organizational abilities. Analyze and problems solve. Write clearly and present information in concise summary reports. Prioritize and set long and short-term goals. Knowledge and skill in interpersonal communications. Ability to follow instructions. Knowledge of related equipment, tools, curriculum, and instructional methods. Knowledge of the content area and skill in applying the principles and practices of the area of assignment. Ability to work independently. Ability to keep the learning environment neat and orderly. Ability to work and lift safely.
