What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor Pool - Pharmacy Technician Instructor position at Lane Community College?
The Pharmacy Technician Instructor is essential in training and forming highly skilled Pharmacy technicians by applying approved and effective techniques of student supervision, motivation, and classroom management; and appropriate curriculum and instructional materials for the assigned subject area.
They will be responsible for ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment, as well as providing guidance and support for students to succeed in gaining the necessary knowledge and skills in preparation for the certification.
As necessary, the Pharmacy technician instructor will also review the current curriculum, and as needed, may develop and implement teaching and learning strategies to enhance the course.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program/course or equivalent.
- Training received from an accredited institution must be recognized as required by ORS 348.609.
- A baccalaureate degree or higher.
- At least 3 years working in a pharmacy as a certified Pharmacy Technician.
- At least 1 year of experience educating, instructing, or training in pharmacy.
- Active PTCB CPhT Certification
- Ability to obtain, within two (2) terms upon employment, the National Certified Pharmacy Technician Educator™ (CPTEd™) Certification.
- Current certification in CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and First Aid, or the ability to obtain it prior to employment.
Wage: $35.00 per hour
