What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Skilled Labor position at Landscape Design Innovation Group, PLLC.?
Duties:
· Arrive to work in the proper uniform and dress code adhering to the uniform and dress code policies outlined in the employee handbook.
· Properly utilize a variety of landscape related tools (shovel, rake, pitchfork, wheelbarrow, pickax, hand tamper, tape measure, level, hammer, etc.)
· Operate a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to skid steer, blower, edger, trimmers, plate compactor, garden tractor, power tools, hand tools, and small-scale shop maintenance equipment (grease gun, grinder, drill press, saw, etc.).
· Works as part of a team to ensure the job is completed in the most time-efficient manner as well as to the company’s quality standards.
· Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.
· Works under the direction of a NC Licensed Landscape Contractor.
· Applies chemicals under the direction of North Carolina licensed pesticide applicator.
· Install materials and components under the supervision of a Foreman including, but not limited to:
o Storm drainage, Hardscapes (pavers/bricks/stone), Firepits/Fireplaces, Outdoor Kitchen Appliances, Irrigation systems, Plant Material (trees, shrubs, sod, etc.), Mulch, Low Voltage Outdoor Lighting, and custom features.
· Use Carpentry skills when necessary.
· Read Plan Drawings under the supervision and direction of Foreman.
· Demolish and Dispose of Landscape and Hardscape materials under supervision of Foreman.
· Grade Landscapes under the direction and supervision of Foreman/Management.
· Always remain professional, especially when in contact with clients and their property.
· Attend all trainings applicable to this position.
· Perform all other tasks requested by Management and Direct Supervisor.
Physical Demands
- This position primarily consists of physical activity as it relates to the estimation implementation of landscape/hardscape construction.
- Employee must be physically fit.
- Must have adequate endurance to work efficiently and effectively in all different types of weather conditions for a minimum of ten (10) hours per day, four (4) days per week minimum.
- Ability to perform tasks using feet, legs and hands to due strenuous and repetitive construction related activities/motions associated with the proper use of mechanized and non-mechanized equipment.
- Must be able to physically stand, bend, kneel, squat, crouch, crawl
- Must be able to lift (up to) 80lbs. several times daily.
- Frequently required to stand and walk, crouch, kneel, stoop, and lift and/or move up to 80 lbs. independently and over 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
o Constantly required to communicate with ability to talk and hear. Job will require constantly working outdoor in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.
· While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (hot and cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
Work Environment Duties and Requirements:
Maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
o Update personal information with Human Resources and Direct Supervisor should driving status change, CDL be obtained or any other information change in your Motor Vehicle Record.
· Pass pre-employment drug screenings and background checks.
o Additional drug screenings and background checks may be implemented at random throughout the course of employment.
· Have and maintain an active cell phone with text and camera capabilities.
· Maintain a willingness to learn, adapt to challenging situations, communicate effectively with a positive attitude.
· Communicate all necessary/applicable personal contact and banking information updated with Human Resources.

Pay: $17.50 - $25.00 per hour
