Landscape Design Innovation Group is Moore County’s premiere residential design /build landscaping firm. As we continued to grow, we have an IMMEDIATE OPENING for an experienced Landscape / Hardscape Installation Foreman at our location West End, North Carolina
Position Overview
The Landscape & Hardscape Installation Foreman has experience in hardscape and landscape construction and installation methods and requires minimal supervision. This position directs the activities of a team of 3 or more in the construction of paver patios, retaining walls, landscape construction, and planting installations.
Essential Responsibilities
· Install paver patios, stone and segmental block retaining walls.
· Reads landscape design drawings and implements the landscape construction plan.
· Reads Grading Plan, understands elevations and uses this knowledge to execute the construction plan.
· Proficiently operates mini-excavator, skid steer, compaction equipment, trencher, and other landscape construction.
· Operates automatic and stick-shift vehicles, including dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations.
· Interacts well with clients during introductions, answering questions, responding to client’s requests, and final walk-through.
· Communicates with LDIG Management to make any necessary changes to scope of work.
· Completes daily timesheets, work orders, and other documents as necessary.
· Coordinates with Project Manager on materials and other resources needed to complete project.
· Plans and organizes the jobsite to ensure that job is completed in the most time-efficient manner.
· Handles personnel issues on site and trains employees on policies and procedures.
· Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.
· Briefs Project Manager on job status, personnel issues, and client concerns.
· Maintains assigned equipment and notifies staff of needed repairs or maintenance.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
· A working knowledge of standard construction practices and a basic understanding of electricity, drainage, and plumbing.
· 5 years of hardscape and landscape installation experience
· Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude.
· Leadership, management, and communication skills and the ability to work with coworkers and clients.
· Ability to read and execute blueprints.
· Paver, step, and retaining wall, and pool installation experience.
· Retaining wall, outdoor fireplace / firepit, raised patio, and outdoor kitchen installation experience.
· Masonry and veneer experience is a plus.
· Knowledge of plant material.
· Ability to operate construction equipment as described above.
· Valid driver’s license and good driving record
· Ability to pass background and drug screening.
· Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment
Physical Demands
The Landscape Hardscape Installation Foreman is regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop or kneel, and reach with hands and arms.; Landscape Hardscape Installation Foreman must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
Job Site Conditions
he Landscape Hardscape Installation Foreman is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
Working Relationships
The employee will work closely with members of the installation team, other team leaders, vendors and clients.
