About the Role

We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Learning Specialist to join our teaching team for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is perfect for someone passionate about working with children and eager to teach engineering, art, and Coding & Game Design.

No prior knowledge in these subjects is required. We provide comprehensive training and curriculum so you feel confident leading classrooms across exciting topics. After working at Lando, you’ll be an expert across our subject areas!

This role is ideal for someone who Is excited about using technology in the classroom, takes strong responsibility for student safety and experience, and enjoys working with groups of children in grades 1–5

Classes take place on school campuses immediately after dismissal. You’ll occasionally be observed by parents, PTA leaders, and school staff, and will represent Lando professionally at all times.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $40–$70 per hour

Potential to work up to 5 days per week, with classes typically scheduled between 1:00pm–5:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Class Preparation: Pack and manage class supplies (all materials provided by Lando)
• Communication: Build warm, positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff
• Class Delivery: Lead engaging digital and hands-on classes across multiple subjects
• Punctuality: Arrive on time and prepared for every class
• Consistency: Teach the same days each week for the full semester (~10 weeks)
• Professionalism: Represent Lando respectfully on campus with staff, families, and PTAs

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in working with children (grades 1–5)
• Passion for engaging families; customer-facing experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Reliable transportation and ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Availability to teach at least 3 days per week

Location

This role requires in-person teaching at school campuses in the North East Bay Area, including Alameda, Berkley, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Orinda, Moraga, Lafayette, and San Ramon.
