What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Specialist (Part-Time $65/hr) position at Strategies for Learning, Inc.?
Strategies for Learning is seeking experienced Educational Specialists to provide individualized learning support to students with learning differences. We are currently hiring experienced educators with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Literacy Support (Structured Literacy informed like Orton-Gillingham Approach, SIPPS, SPIRE)
- Math Support
- Executive Functioning Support

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one academic remediation using evidence-based strategies
- Individualize instruction based on student strengths and needs
- Build strong, professional relationships with students, parents, and team members
- Communicate progress and collaborate with the Strategies for Learning team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (B.A./B.S.)
- Background in Special Education or related field strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
- Experience supporting students with learning differences
- Ability to work in person at our Oakland learning clinic
- After-school or Day time Hours
- Availability of approximately 4–15 hours per week
- Commitment of at least one full school year
Compensation
- Starting at $65/hour, with opportunities for raises and bonuses based on experience, performance, and longevity
