Inventory Accounting Specialist

Company Overview:

A fast-growing renewable energy company is seeking an Inventory Accounting Specialist to support its complex contract manufacturing network. This temp-to-hire role offers the potential for a permanent position, focusing on inventory integrity across a large manufacturing network.

Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with 30 contract manufacturers to ensure their reported inventory balances align with the company's NetSuite system on a monthly basis
• Monitor and validate that sales orders are being committed properly and raw material is being depleted in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform monthly vendor-to-company inventory reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances
• Develop and maintain controls and checklists to ensure all items on a sales order are fulfilled and properly closed when a project completes
• Work cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and project teams to resolve discrepancies and prevent inventory overstatements or understatements
• Identify systemic issues in how contract manufacturers track and report inventory and recommend process improvements
• Support month-end close by ensuring inventory-related entries and reconciliations are complete and accurate
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or Supply Chain
• 3–5 years of experience, including 2–3 years in public accounting; industry experience in manufacturing or contract manufacturing strongly preferred
• Experience with NetSuite required; familiarity with inventory modules is a strong plus
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting concepts, including COGS recognition, raw material consumption, and WIP
• Renewable energy or project-based manufacturing experience is a significant plus
  
  

Compensation: Pay Rate: $40 – $75/hr
