Company Overview:

A third-generation family business founded in 1953, specializing in air filtration solutions, is seeking a Controller to join their finance team. The role involves overseeing accounting operations and providing strategic financial management to support organizational goals.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP standards.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Conduct regular audits of financial processes and systems to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Utilize accounting software for efficient management of financial data.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, providing insights into variances and trends.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, analyses, and presentations for executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reviews with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making processes.
• Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions.
• Train and mentor accounting staff on best practices and financial management.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory experience.
• Proven experience in a Controller or similar role within a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar ERP systems; Epicor’s Prophet 21 a plus).
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and cash flow management.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting processes, and technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition and accrual management, is highly desirable.
  
  

Compensation: Salary: $110,000 – $140,000, Plus Bonus
