Job Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular audits of financial processes and systems to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Utilize accounting software for efficient management of financial data.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, providing insights into variances and trends.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, analyses, and presentations for executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reviews with auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making processes.
- Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions.
- Train and mentor accounting staff on best practices and financial management.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in a Controller or similar role within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar ERP systems; Epicor’s Prophet 21 a plus).
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and cash flow management.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting processes, and technical accounting issues such as revenue recognition and accrual management, is highly desirable.
