A leading provider of retirement security and investment solutions, operating in the U.S., Bermuda, and Japan, is seeking a candidate to support operational accounting and reporting for derivatives across its insurance subsidiaries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review monthly reconciliations between the subledger and trading system for derivatives
- Support the review, preparation, and timely completion of 10Q/K derivative footnotes and NAIC schedules
- Execute on process re-design due to increased hedging strategies and transformation initiatives
- Partner with the investment office to support new hedging strategies and ensure appropriate accounting and reporting
- Collaborate with TPAs, middle office, front office, and technology teams for data redesign
- Engage with TPAs supporting hedge accounting and certain hedging strategies
- Execute processes and checks that support hedge accounting
- Support external auditors on all derivative-related matters
- Perform control functions in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and NAIC Model Audit Rule
- Perform frequent ad hoc analysis and assist with special projects
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3-10 years of relevant experience, derivatives experience a plus
- Experience in Investment Accounting and/or Investment/Treasury Operations
- Experience in an insurance company, Investment GAAP, and Statutory reporting
- Experience in successful process redesign from system enhancements and conversion
- Familiarity with investment accounting systems (Clearwater is helpful)
- Pro-active, detail-oriented, deadline-driven; possess excellent documentation and analytical skills
