Production Operator

Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Canaan, CT 06018

Duration: 12 Months

Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 12-hour shift (M,T  ,F,S,S  W,T)

Pay: $28.00/hr. on W2

Role Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and accurately moving products within the distribution center while maintaining inventory accuracy, product integrity, and compliance with safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport palletized products throughout the distribution center.
• Unload, put away, pick, load, and replenish products.
• Perform double-deep, bulk, and full-pallet picking.
• Operate various material handling equipment, including High Reach Forklift, Counterbalance, Electric Pallet Jack, Dock Stocker
• Use RF scanners and WMS to track inventory and maintain accuracy.
• Ensure product integrity during material movement.
• Follow all safety procedures and required PPE.
• Crosstrain in other warehouse areas and provide backup support.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 1 year of relevant experience required in lieu of education.
• Intermediate experience with High Reach or Counterbalance forklift is required.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification within 2 days of employment.
• Ability to operate MHE and use RF scanners.
• Ability to read and understand distribution documents in English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• General warehouse/distribution of knowledge.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, twisting, and grasping.
• Repetitive hand/finger movements.
• Ability to occasionally climb.
• May require lifting 50 lbs. depending on the work area.
• Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely operate MHE.
• Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment.
• Ability to operate MHE and use RF scanners.
• Ability to read and understand distribution documents in English.
