Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and experienced Dermatology Physician Assistant to join a highly rated dermatology team in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with dermatologists to provide comprehensive care for patients with various skin conditions. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, treating, and educating patients to promote skin health and disease prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as biopsies and laboratory work.
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for dermatologic conditions.
- Perform dermatologic procedures including biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy as needed.
- Educate patients on proper skin care, sun protection, and preventative practices.
- Collaborate closely with dermatologists, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain high clinical standards.
- Engage in continuing education and stay current with advancements in dermatology.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in physician assistant studies.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Active state license as a Physician Assistant.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical dermatology experience as a practicing PA (required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with solid analytical and clinical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with dermatologic terminology, treatments, and procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR systems.
Physical Demands:
This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Manual dexterity and visual acuity are essential for performing dermatologic procedures. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for qualified individuals with disabilities.
