Job Summary:

This position will support the Dean of Student Experience to cultivate a vibrant, engaging, and inclusive student experience outside of the classroom for traditional undergraduate students, in accordance with the direction set by the President.  

This position is responsible for providing leadership and creating excitement in the areas of career and campus life within the traditional on campus undergraduate Student Affairs team and mission.  This includes advising the Student Activities Team, Intramurals Team, Career Services and Commuter Engagement Events. 

As an educator and member of the Student Affairs Staff, this individual will also support the overall student experience and impact of the Student Affairs Office, with high touch involvement within SOAR, WOW and overall campus student engagement events.  

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new student leaders.
  • Provides constructive and timely student leader performance evaluations. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Some physical demands in setting up events and equipment.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred within a Bible, Spiritual Formation, or Education area.
  • Preference of 2 years experience within a Christ centered setting involving team building, campus life, and student development.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Help establish a student culture where diversity is encouraged and where students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions, and demonstrate servant leader qualities.
  • Promote the student experience to students in an engaging and fun manner.
  • Participate in Student Leadership training, WOW, SOAR, and other Student Affairs initiatives.
  • Play a key role in WOW and SOAR event coordination, meetings and execution.
  • Promote participation in academic and extracurricular activities.  Attend key community events on campus with the goal to connect through life on life investment.
  • Build bridges with commuters and institute communication with commuters and initiatives designed to improve commuter engagement, culture and sense of belonging.
  • Support the Deans in conduct response and restorative follow through with commuters.
  • Recruit, train and advise the Student Activities Team, responsible for 1-2 high engagement events each month during the academic year and key to building positive student life on campus.
  • Ensure results that build continuing campus engagement and foster a sense of belonging within the on campus community.
  • Oversee the Intramurals Team, encompassing both league and tournament play.
  • Develop key weekends at LBC where students want to stay on campus and engage across a variety of environments on campus.
  • Manage the budgets consisting of SAT and IM student experience funds for maximum student impact in line with the overall College mission and Student Affairs learning outcomes.
  • Plan regular meetings with the Student Activities Team (SAT) and Intramurals Teams (IM).
  • Review all student event requests for approval and coordinate with undergraduate campus events calendar and Events team.
  • Oversee marketing efforts related to Student Activities and Student Affairs.
  • Focus on the development and implementation of special programs, events and resources designed to assist undergraduate students with career exploration, networking and development of future-ready professional skills (ie camp and ministry fair, job fair).
  • Provide career advising services to students across all academic years and TU programs, including resume reviews, interview coaching, and interpretation of career assessments.
  • Oversee and update a job board.
  • Assist students in self-assessment and job search processes, utilizing online career assessment tools and offering mock interviews, initial reviews of resumes and cover letters.
  • Schedule speakers and educational opportunities, including career-related presentations both in and out of classes, promoting holistic student development.
  • Collaborate with the different departments on researching and implementing new initiatives, with a focus on leveraging technology, promoting diversity, and fostering professional development.
  • Embrace an attitude of constant improvement, both personally and in the development of others.
  • Participate in chapel promotion and attend chapel services held 3x per week.
  • Listen to and learn from students, putting emphasis on developing relational connections.
  • Utilize the full potential of Anthology, Mongoose, and ResLife software.
  • Oversee the Student Center space in order to encourage maximum use of that space for student events; also ensuring cleanliness and effective systems for use and care.
  • Share in training and development of the graduate assistant for student affairs.
  • Serve on various committees as appointed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
